With all the hair color, heat, pollution, products, and even sun rays, it is only normal for our hair to get damaged and weak. Because of this, hair starts to break faster and further results in stopping the growth of your hair. And there is no such product or hair mask ever made to undo this damage in a day or a week or even a month. Growing healthy hair is a journey. Some treatments like hair growth oil and masks might complement this process by providing hydration to your hair and infusing your hair strands. This will ensure that your hair won’t break and thus grow faster.
5 Homemade Hair Masks For Different Hair Problems
1. For Excessive Hair Breakage
Take one teaspoon of ground cinnamon and mix it with a teaspoon of coconut oil. Mix it well and apply it to your scalp with your fingertips. Massage your head for blood circulation and then let it sit on for 30 to 45 minutes so that your hair can absorb all the nutrients. Once done, rinse it with warm water.
Cinnamon stimulates blood circulation, which promotes hair growth and strength. On the other hand, Coconut is a rich source of fatty acid, which helps repair your damaged hair.
2. For Dry Hair
You’ll have to take a teaspoon of coconut oil for this hair mask and add half a cup of yogurt to it. Then add the juice of one medium-sized lemon. Once you are done mixing the three ingredients properly into a smooth paste, break an egg in it and mix it again. Apply this hair mask on your scalp down to your ends.
Once you are done applying the mask evenly, wrap your head with a towel or a shower cap to lock all the natural heat produced by your scalp. Leave the mask on for about 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse your hair with warm water, and then shampoo it. You do not have to apply your hair conditioner after using this hair mask as the ingredients used in the mask provide enough hydration to your hair.
While the egg is loaded with vitamins, yogurt and coconut oil are for hydration. Lemon contains citric acid, calcium, magnesium, vitamin C, pectin, and flavonoids that benefit hair growth.
3. For Frizzy Hair
Add equal amounts of refined coconut oil, 100% pure honey, and avocado oil according to your hair length, and mix it well. Start applying it to your scalp, working your way down to your ends. Leave it for about 10 to 15 minutes. Then rinse it with warm water and shampoo your hair in the usual way.
This hair mask is rich in fatty acids, minerals, and antioxidant properties that reduce frizz and make your hair shiny.
4. For Damaged Hair
Take a tablespoon each of honey, avocado, plain yogurt, brown sugar, banana, and apple cider vinegar. Mix it well using a fork and make sure there are no chunks in the hair mask. Once a smooth paste is prepared, apply it to your scalp and the length of your hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap to trap the natural heat produced by your scalp. Keep it on for at least 20 minutes before you rinse it out. Then wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner.
Honey contains plenty of vitamins and minerals to manage the split ends. Avocado will provide your hair with essential fat, and biotin and banana have silica for additional hair strengthening properties.
5. For Thinning Hair
Add five ounces of coconut cream to half a cup of no-sugar-added cocoa powder. Pour ¾ tablespoon of powdered cinnamon and mix it well. Apply it on damp hair from root to tip. Cover your hair with a plastic cap and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Rinse it with warm water, and then shampoo your hair.
Cinnamon ensures blood circulation around hair follicles, dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants, and theobromine boosts growth-stimulating blood flow.
Apart from applying these hair masks, if you really want long and healthy hair, you’ll have to avoid using heat to style your hair as much as possible. Try to eat clean and add more greens to your diet. As mentioned above, growing hair is a journey. So trust the process and do what feels best for your hair.
