Palindromes have always been very interesting to me. The whole concept becomes even cooler when you look at the following pair of words: stressed and desserts.
It cannot be a coincidence that these words are made to spell like that. I think this whole spelling of stressed backward turning out to be desserts is deliberate, and if it is a coincidence, well then, what a wonderful coincidence!
Desserts truly have the power to uplift your soul, at least for some time. And to be honest, ‘happy and sombre sometimes’ can change the tides and bring balance to the scales of life.
As vocalized by the wonderful Jacques Torres, “Life is short. Eat dessert first.” Desserts are little potions of love that we all deserve in this fast-paced life of ours. So, here are some of my favorite desserts to die for, or better yet, desserts to live for.
6 Awesome Desserts To Die For
1. Tiramisu

Tiramisu is truly a godsend. The name literally means ‘pick me up’ or ‘cheer me up’. I had the opportunity of tasting this little Italian creamy dose of goodness in Manali for the first time. And the best part is that I had it for the first time in this beautiful little cottage which was adorned with these wildflowers in shades of purples, pinks, yellows, blues, and whites. It was this strange feeling of home and the wild. And the tiramisu was just a cherry on top.
The cake and creamy goodness are coffee-flavored. It is a rich dessert that combines the flavor of cocoa and espresso topped with mascarpone cheese. It just melts in your mouth and is a perfect treat for people who love coffee and want it in their desserts as well.
2. Red Velvet Cake

Red velvet cake is, as the name suggests, a red, velvety shot of awesomeness. It is a soft, fluffy cake that is chocolaty, but the chocolate does not overpower the other flavors like vanilla. The icing on the red velvet cake is the perfect balance to the cake. It is extremely easy to make.
A slice of the red velvet cake on an outing, well, at your home, at the moment, will be a perfect response to the tensions and boredom you have been going through. Put on your favorite show and grab a bite of the red velvet cake and you are good to go.
3. Carrot Cake

This dessert is a favorite because of my mother. Ever since I was a pesky little 7-year-old, my mother gave me slices of the carrot cake she baked. The cake was a perfect mixture of sweetness and spice. Combining the goodness of carrots, the sweet taste of sugar, and the amazing aftertaste of spice, a bite of this cake will be the perfect treat in your mouth.
Google the recipe, whip up some yummy batter and put in some walnuts, you have the perfect meal for a date or a hangout.
And I am sure that one bite of this goodness will make you chant, “I carrot live without you!”
4. Ras Malai

Ras malai is the best Indian dessert ever! It is a dumpling made of cottage cheese, dipped in sweetened milk. This is also the textbook definition of ras malai. In reality, eating a ras malai is an experience like no other. It is like a spark of sweetness that is not completely overwhelming and completely brightens up one’s mood.
5. Choco Lava Cake

My friend makes the best Choco lava cakes, and she makes them from scratch. The Choco lava cake is what you call heaven on earth. It is chocolaty goodness that erupts like lava, though soothes you like a cool, calm breeze on a hot summer day. It is your best friend if you love cake and chocolate as much as I do. The best part about it is the chocolate. Need I say more!
6. Waffles

Waffles, be it any flavor, are the best thing to close your evening with friends. To me, waffles are symbolic of my friends, of our hangouts in every vacation, and now more than ever, waffles and pictures of waffles are a constant reminder of our love. Nevertheless, waffles are crunchy batter cooked between two hot plates. My personal favorites are the red velvet waffles and Belgian chocolate waffles. Served with ice cream and strawberries, these are the perfect companion to happy times. In times like this, waffles are like the friend I never had, and I hope they do wonders for you too.
In the end, if cooking is what gets you going right now, then you should try making these desserts and build your own bubbles of happiness. But if you are anything like me, by which I mean lazy and sleepy, it is completely okay to lie down on your bed and do nothing the whole day.
